The three tracks in the Ph.D. program (pure, applied, actuarial) each require three prelims, which are taken from the following options:
(Note: the prelim exams for Math 5160 and Math 5637 are open ONLY to actuarial students.)

Course numbers at UConn changed from 3 digits to 4 digits in August 2008, so prelim exams before and after this date have different numbers. E.g., Algebra used to be Math 315 and became Math 5210.
