Classes are organized in a mixed/flipped mode. Lectures are pre-recorded and released weekly on HuskyCT, together with reading materials, handouts, and sample scripts. Students watch the videos from home and discuss the materials in groups. Questions are posted on discussion forums. Lab sessions are held on a time schedule specified by the instructor based on the time/location on PeopleSoft. Students form groups in the first class on Tuesday. MATH 5800-030 & 031 students sit together for introductory-level MATLAB, R, and Python for 2 nights (Tue & Thu) in the first week. The instructor reserves the right to adjust the schedule to meet the course goals.
Registration for Fall is open, request a permission number for Financial Programming and Modeling (MATH 5800 - 030, or MATH 5670 starting Spring 18) or/and Financial Data Ming and Big Data Analytics (MATH 5800 - 031, or MATH 5671 starting Spring 18) if interested.
