Leonardo of Pisa (Fibonacci) introduced the world to the Fibonacci sequence in 1202. Since that time, many people have been captivated by its simple pattern 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21,..., where each number is the sum of the previous two terms. In this talk we will introduce a useful but less widely known topic in mathematics, continued fractions, and apply them to construct and study the Fibonacci numbers.
