Saturday, March 17, 2018
On March 17th the UConn Math Club is going to Providence to attend the Symposium for Undergraduates in the Mathematical Sciences (SUMS) at Brown University.
The talks at SUMS are targeted to undergraduates. The theme this year is Social Responsibility. The invited speakers are
- Catherine Buell (Fitchburg State)
- Gelonia Dent (Brown)
- Stuart Geman (Brown)
- Adriana Salerno (Bates)
There will be a conference banquet after the talks. Transportation and the banquet are free to UConn students, but you must register at the conference website https://sites.google.com/a/brown.edu/sums-2016/home (yes, they forgot to update the URL to use 2018), where you can find further information about the talks.
We will be leaving UConn at 7:30 AM on March 17th and will return to campus that evening by 10:30 PM. If you are interested in joining us, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, providing your name and a phone number, and indicate if you can offer transportation in your own vehicle.
Note: This event is taking place on the second Saturday of spring break.
