You can buy Volume 1 of the Stewart text at the UConn Coop, online from the publisher and many other places. Make sure you get a WEBASSIGN CODE bundled with the text as they cost $25 when purchased separately.

RESOURCES:  The Q center offers peer tutoring services on the first floor of the main Library-Level 1 Sun-Th 1-11PM. Northwest dining Hall Sun-Wed, 7:30-10PM. http://www.qcenter.uconn.edu.

 

HOMEWORK ON WEBASSIGN: You will need a login ID and password from your instructor plus a WebAssign code to register online. A link to WebAssign can be found in the common class page or click on the link to the left. Change your password immediately by going to ^My Options ̄. You can get help using WebAssign from your instructor or the tutor in the Q-Center. There will be homework assignments for each section of the text. Each assignment will be made available on WebAssign several days before the section is covered in class. The DUE DATES foe each assignment will be set by your instructor and will generally a couple of days after the material is covered in class. You will get 5 attempts to answer each question. After each attempt, you will be told whether  your answer is correct or not. Full solutions will be available on WebAssign after the due date. If you are not able to get the correct answer after two or three attempts, we recommend that you seek help from your instructor, Q-Center, a tutor, or another student. Always work on paper first before you submit your answers online.

 

GRADING:

o      Quizzes             5%

o      Exam 1             20%  (October 9 at 6 PM-7:30PM)

o      Exam 2             20%  (November 13 6 PM-7:30 PM)

o      Final Exam           20%  (December 11 10:30-12;30)

o      Gateway             0%  (Pass/Fail, Failure to pass lower the course grade by one full letter grade)
