Calculus, Early Transcendentals, by James Stewart 6ed, with a WebAssign code.
A graphing calculator will also be of great use.

Recent Announcements

The Limit Project is due 2 Oct 2008 at the beginning of class.
Q-Center Hours have been posted. I will be there every Thursday from 3 to 4.
The first day of class is 26 August 2008 in MSB303.

Brief course description: An introduction to the basic tools and use of the differential calculus and a brief foray into the integral calculus to be continued in Math1132Q.

Course Notes:

Prerequisites: Precalculus or equivalent.

Course grade: This will be based on the following weighting:

17% WebAssign
8% Quizes
20% each midterm exam.
35% Final exam.

Homework:

Will be assigned and done on WebAssign. More information on how this will work will be given on the first day of class.
Computational problems should present a complete calculation, starting with the data of the problem. Do not just give the answer.

Quizes:

Quizes will in general be given every Friday at the beginning of class. No make up quizes will be given.

Projects:

Projects will be assigned during the course of the semester as time and material present themselves. And in the grading scheme will count as quizes.

Exams: See above.

No make-up exams will be given except with documented excuses presented to me before the exam AND approved.

If you need exam accomodations based on a documented disability, you need to speak with both the Center for Student Disabilities and the me within the first two weeks of the semester.
