Lectures: As stated in the main course webpage, you are very STRONGly encouraged to attend lectures. It will be far simplier for you to understand the material from the lectures rather than the book alone. Raise your hand if you have questions regarding the material. Respect the rest of the class while lectures are going on. This means that keep talking among each other to the minimum, turn off your cellphone, pager, etc while you are in lectures. If you have to take your phone call, please do so outside the class room. It is easy really, treat other people like you want to be treated.

My name: As you can see that my name is long and not usual name. Some people don't quite know how to say my last name. It is easy really, Kham-se-ma-nan, just like the way it was written. However, beside "Dr. Khamsemanan" or "Professor Khamsemanan", my former students call me "Dr. K", "professor" or "Ning". I will answer to all of the above.

Quizzes: There will be 10 10-minute-in-class quizzes through out the semester. All quizzes and exams will be closed notes and closed book. Quizzes will be graded by me and will be handed back in Lectures. The two lowest scores of the quizzes will be dropped. There will be no make-up quizzes. I will be using Husky CT (formerly Vista/WebCT) for grading.
