Grading
Policy: The grades for this class will be
calculated as follows:
Homework and Quizzes:
25%
Exam 1:
20%
Exam 2:
20%
Final Exam:
35%
Goals:
The goal for the course is to develop an understanding of how to extend
the ideas of single variable calculus to higher dimensions. Although it
is important to know the techniques necessary for completing the
homework, we will also focus on understanding the theory and motivation
behind the material presented in each chapter.
Expectations:
I expect students to:
- Show up to every class on time.
- Be respectful to everyone.
- Actively participate in class,
i.e. ASK QUESTIONS!
- Work hard inside and outside of
class. Read the book.
- Take responsibility for their
own learning.
- Pass this course with a deeper
understanding of calculus.
Homework
and Quizzes:
- list
of homework assignments
Not every question will be
graded, but you must turn in the questions in red. Again, I STRONGLY
recommend that you do every assignment in the list.
- For further
practice, I will post numerous practice problems in the web assign
account (www.webassign.net)
that was created for
this course. In
addition to homework, we will also have weekly quizzes. Each week
I will tell you when the quiz will be as well as the focus of the
material.
Exams:
The tentative exam dates are:
Exam 1: March 5th, 2008.
Exam 2: April 17th, 2008.
These dates may change and if they do you will be the first to know.
Academic
Integrity: Do not cheat, you know the drill.
