Grading and Assignments:
Homework
It will be advisable for you to complete any and all homework questions specificed. Expect to spend many hours each afternoon working on homework. Due to the speed of the course it will be inefficient for me to collect and grade each assignment individually. This rule is of course subject to change at my discretion. I will suggest a sample of problems from the text on each section that we are working on. There will be frequent quizzes based on these homework assignments, so doing the homework is essential to success in the course. Of course the more problems you work through successfully the better prepared you are.
Quizzes
Quizzes will be given in class on dates listed on the course web page. These will consist of a small collection of problems from the homework sections. There will be 5 total quizzes through the course with the lowest one dropped.
Exams
There will be two 1 hour exams given during the third hour of the class periods on January 4th and January 11th. These exams will only cover material up to the day before the exam. The sectional topics for each exam are based on how the lecture progresses during classes and will therefore be announced in class. Calculators will be strictly prohibited for the exams unless otherwise announced. There is no exception.
Grade Breakdown:
Quizzes20%
Exam 120%
Exam 220%
Final40%

Make-up and Attendance Policies
Makeups for exams will be excused only for medical reasons or school approved absences. In either case arrangements must be made before the exam, no exceptions. For medical cases, an email will suffice, however documentation must be provided on the Monday after the exam. Beyond that the exam cannot be made up. Quizzes will not be made up as one is dropped.

Academic Integrity
Cheating is forbidden. Anyone caught cheating or aiding someone else in cheating will be subject to failing the assignment, or other grade reductions.
