Prerequisite:
The prerequisites for this course is a C in Math 113. These are strictly enforced. Any student enrolled whom does not have the proper prerequists will be automatically dropped from the course by the registar.
Course material:
The course will begin with Chapter 7 in Hughes-Hallet, covering techniques of integration. We will cover as much of the rest of the book as we can in the semester, including selected topics from Applications of definite integrals, sequence, series, power series, talyor approximations/series.
Grading and Assignments: Homework
Homework will be assigned from the text and graded. The homework grades will be based not only for correctness of the problem, but also for clarity of its solution. The homework will be graded on a ( check minus, check, check plus ) system, where a check plus translates as an A, a check translates as a B, a check minus translates as a C and no submission is an F.
Quizzes
There will be weekly quizzes given in class, begining the second week of classes. They will be based primarily on the homework and are ment as preperation for the exams.
Gateway
There will be an integration gateway ( similar to the algebra gateway of 112 and the differential gateway of 113 ), however there will only be 7 problems. The first gateway will be given as an in class exam. There will only be 4 subsequent gateways ( 5 total ) offered during normal extra gateway times ( in PB 36 ). Unlike 112/113 instead of taking the highest gateway score, the average of all passing gateways will be taken. Every student still must pass the gateway ( at least once ) to receive a passing score in the course, and like 112/113 gateways there is no partial credit.
Exams
There will be 2 class length exams given beyond the gateway. This does not included the final.

No makeups will be given for quizzes, however the lowest quiz grade will be dropped. For Homeworks each student is allowed to turn in two assignments late by one week. After that no homework will be accepted late.

Cheating is forbidden, and will not be tolerated in any form whatsoever. Anyone caught cheating or aiding someone else in cheating will be subject to failing the assignment, or other possible grade reductions.
