Project Guidelines

Team Performance Agreement (10pts)

Your Team Performance Agreement should be typed up, signed, and handed in on Thursday April 9th, along with your plan of attack. The TPA will act as ground rules for your group to work together. It is a way to make sure that all members are on the same page. This will also work as a rubric for you to grade your teammates at the end of the project. Your TPA should contain the following:
1. Goals: what level of performance does the group expect.
2. Decisions: how will you make them?
3. Communications:How will communication be handled by groups.
4. Roles: How will you determine roles for individuals?

The TPA is discussed further on page 86. The plan of attack will be graded on how effectively and thoroughly the group handles these topics.

Plan of Attack (10pts)

Once you have been assigned a project, the first task is to create a Plan of Attack. This document should lay down what needs to be accomplished, and who is to accomplish it. So brainstorm to figure out what goals you need to reach, and then form an organized list so that the group can distribute responsibilities fully. Once this has been done, have someone type it up and hand it in on Nov 16th / 17th with the TPA. This will be graded on how effectively you outline the steps needed to take to solve finish the project, and how well you distribute the work.

Presentation (40pts)

In 10-15 minutes, your group will be asked present your final results. This includes an outline of the problem and the 'solution' the team came up with. Also, it is important to outline the process which brought you to this point. You will be graded on how you work together (including each member), and how effective you are at presenting your finds, of course this includes how well prepared you are and how clear and well organized your presentation is.

Group Paper (40pts)

The group will turn in a final paper, in which you will give a summary of the problem and solution. Then you should go into more detail with data and calculations that you made. For each data-point you should have justification and explanation (this includes shopping around numbers for trip planners and wedding groups), it is important to share any doubts that you have about your numbers.

The final paper will be graded on how clearly you state your solution and process. This will include how well written the paper is. Grammar and spelling will be counted as well as how organized and neat your the paper is. Remember, make sure that any tables are well explained.
