Lemniscatic trigonometry

The standard trigonometric functions are connected with the geometry of the unit circle and are periodic. We will look at functions which play a similar role for a lemniscate (the sideways figure 8). There are some similarities between circular and lemniscatic trig functions, and also some important differences, especially when we try to make sense of things using complex numbers.
