Brief course description: This course is an introduction to harmonic analysis on local fields and its application to the analytic continuation of L-functions, following Tate's thesis.

Prerequisites: algebraic number theory, topology, measure theory

Projects: There will be a written project due near the end of the semester. A list of topics will be posted a few weeks into the course.
