Proceedings

NEW DEADLINE: JUNE 1ST, 2006

Dear Colleague,

The proceedings of the Sixteenth International Conference on Operator Theory and Applications will be published in the Birkhauser Series on Operator Theory (OT).
  • Editors. The papers can be submitted via email to any of the five editors: Only original research papers relevant to the IWOTA area will be acceptable for publication. In exceptional cases, the editors will allow survey articles. The papers will be refereed as if they were papers submitted to Integral Equations and Operator Theory.
  • Deadline. The deadline for submitting a paper is June 1, 2006. Of course, a paper can be submitted before the deadline.
  • Electronic submission of a manuscript. Papers should be submitted via email directly to any of the five editors. The number of the submitted files should be reduced to the bare minimum. Ideally, a submission would consist of one postscript or one PDF file.
  • Final submission of the accepted manuscripts. Only papers which have been written in LaTeX2e using the Integral Equations and Operator Theory style birkmult.cls can be accepted. The file and the instructions to the authors can be obtained directly from the Birkhauser web site http://www.birkhauser.ch/math/downloads
    For your convenience, we provide these files for downloading here:
    • birkmult.cls This is the Birkhauser class style. You should put it in the same directory containing your paper. Your paper should start with the first line
      \documentclass{birkmult}
    • bmultdoc.tex This is a LaTeX file with an example for the usage of the birkmult class Ffile.
    • bmultdoc.pdf A PDF version of the latter file.
    The final versions of the papers should conform to the required format, and the editors expect that submitted files, after LaTeX'ing them, will produce ready-to-camera manuscripts.
  • Birkhauser requirements. Authors are requested to avoid causing any of the following recurrent problems:
    • Using Scientific Workplace to produce the LaTeX file.
    • Using non-American keyboard characters in the LaTeX file. This does not mean that the paper cannot be produced using a non-US keyboard, but instead that characters like, e.g., à should be typed as \`a.
    • We request, that neither overfull nor underfull boxes are contained in the text, that equations do not exceed the indicated text width, and that hyphenations as well as the page breaks have been checked.
