Quizzes : A quiz is a 20-40 minute exam. There will be a quiz at the beginning of
class on the following dates: Tuesday, Sept. 15, Thursday, Sept. 24, Tuesday,
Oct. 13, Tuesday, Oct. 27, Tuesday, Nov. 10 and Thursday, Dec. 3.
There will be no make-ups.

Exams : The final exam will be the only long exam of the semester and will cover
all the material of the course. The final exam is tentatively scheduled to take place
on Friday, Dec. 18 1--3.

Grading :  The lowest quiz  grade will be dropped. The final will be worth anywhere
 from 30%--50%. This flexibility in the make-up of final grades allows students the
opportunity to  demonstrate a mastery of the material.
