MATH 5321: Algebraic Geometry II
Description: This course introduces further concepts and methods of modern algebraic geometry, including schemes and cohomology.
Prerequisites: MATH 5320.
MATH 5321 - Section 1: Algebraic Geometry II
Description: We recall basic notions like schemes and sheaves, then move on to study (quasi)coherent sheaves, cohomology, divisor theory, projective morphisms, higher direct image sheaves, flatness, sheaves of differentials, smooth morphisms, and Bertini theorems. Time permitting, we will cover more advanced topics like Zariski's main theorem or base change for cohomology and geometric applications.
Prerequisites: MATH 5320, MATH 5211 and MATH 5310
