UConn Math Club - Spring 2012

Welcome! All students interested in mathematics are invited to attend the club's events. Usually the club listens to talks aimed at its members. Talks generally will not require a background beyond calculus and a little linear algebra. Free refreshments will be provided.

General Information

  • Officers: This semester, the president is Toni Brzoska, the vice-president is Stacy Roberts, and the treasurer is David Wierschen.
  • Interested in joining? We have a group page on UConntact and on Facebook. If you want to join, please go to our UConntact page and click on the Join Organization button. Our gmail address is also listed there in the Contact Info box.
  • Interested in speaking? If you are not at UConn and know something in mathematics (a result, an idea or method, some history) which would also interest undergraduates, come tell us about it! Please write to uconnmathclub@gmail.com. Some funding can be provided. When you prepare your talk, please include some references to the literature so students may read further on your topic later.
  • Interested in a topic? If you are a UConn student who wants to hear a talk about some part of mathematics, especially one which may not be in a regularly offered course, let us know and hopefully we can find a suitable speaker to address your interests.
