    Calculus, Early Transcendentals, Volume 2 by James Stewart (6^th Edition), with WebAssign code.
    Graphing calculators will be used (TI 82, 83, 85 or 86 recommended)
    You can buy Volume 2 of the Stewart text at the UConn Coop, online directly from the publilsher (with a discount), and many other places. CAUTION: Make sure you get WebAssign codes bundled with the text as they cost about $25 each semester when purchased separately. Volume 1 of Stewart is used only for Math 1131. You will need to purchase Volume 2 for Math 1132 and the multivariable volume for Math 210. We chose the single volumes as the recommended text since were able to have WebAssign codes (for one semester) bundled with each single semester text. However, you are able to purchase combined versions (a complete singe-variable version for Math 1131-1132 or one large, heavy book for 1131-1132-210) but make sure you get two or three semesters of WebAssign codes bundled with them. When bundled with the text, the first Webassign code is free and additional semesters of WebAssign codes when bundled with the text cost $10 each after the first.

Note: Failure to pass the Gateway Exam will lower the course grade by one full letter grade.

The evening exams will be held in the rooms listed below from 6-8 pm on October 7 and November 11. The dates and times are listed in PeopleSoft, but not the rooms. Common make up exams will be held from 8-10 pm on the same days as the exams; permission from your instructor is required.

- The first gateway exam will begin about October 1 and continue through October 30 during which the gateway exam may be repeated (as often as needed) on line in the Mathematics Mac Lab (MSB 203). Practice versions of the gateway exam may be taken online. These practice versions are taken from the same test bank as the actual exams and will be graded online.

Gateway Exam (October 1 - October 30)

All gateway exams are taken in MacLab, MSB 203.
Calculators are NOT allowed.
Pass/fail exam (70% required to pass).
Retakes allowed through October 30.
